Christmas in July – July 1-July25th
How many times have you gone shopping for something particular such as a pair of shoes for the little one and come upon something striking for your sister? You think to yourself, “wow, this would make such a great gift for my sister for Christmas, but, its only July.” Well, at Bingoworkz, put aside the thoughts that Christmas only comes once a year because in 2004, it is coming TWICE. Last year, Bingoworkz ran a special promotion for the holidays and the players truly enjoyed the promotion. Everyone that played the Christmas promotion received SOMETHING.
To play this promotion, every day each bingo player logs into their account and buys one hour worth of cards. This is called the Secret Santa Package. You can only purchase this package between the hours of 6am and 6 pm EST. Each night, the package will play between 7pm and 8pm. The cost of the package is a mere $7.50 giving you 3 cards per game for 10 games. The package is located under your BUY CARDS tab/ PREBUY/SANTA PACKAGE. After purchasing your package, you can log out and you don’t even have to come back because your cards will play automatically for you and if you win a game, your winnings will be posted into your account for you.
Here comes the fun part! Every night, after 8:00pm EST, you can log into your account and go to the Santa calendar and open that day’s window to reveal your special prize for the day. The prizes daily range from bbz to cash to entries into the dash for cash lottery and even FREE CARDS for the end of the promotion special games in the BOB Blackout room. Merry Christmas J Ok, you can’t log into your account after 8pm today so you think you don’t get the prize? Think again!! You do not even have to OPEN the window to get it. It’s all automatically posted to your account. WOW, Merry Christmas again.
Now, for the really big present we all expect on Christmas morning. At the end of the promotion, if you purchased your Santa Package everyday, you will be qualified for the SUPER SIZED BONUS, but, if you were not able to purchase everyday, that’s ok too. We still have a special present for you as well. On top of your daily calendar prizes, at the end of the promotion, we will be hosting a special, ‘private invitation” group of games in the BOB Blackout room scheduled for August 1st. Again, you don’t have to be present to win because your FREE CARDS that won on your secret calendar will already be there for you. Smoking ban still applies to bingo halls
A Jefferson Circuit Court judge has stuck down a district court order that prohibited the Louisville Metro Health Department from enforcing the city’s old smoking ban in bingo halls.
A district judge had ruled in April that the bingo halls are private clubs and exempt from the ordinance.
But in a Dec. 28 ruling, Jefferson Circuit Judge W. Douglas Kemper ruled that District Judge Sheila Collins exceeded her authority in striking down the ordinance as it relates to bingo halls.
He ruled that state law only allowed her to determine if the Louisville Metro Code Enforcement Board of Appeals acted arbitrarily.
The Jefferson County Attorney’s office only obtained a copy of the Circuit Court order this week.
Kemper effectively ruled that if the bingo halls want to challenge the ordinance, they must file a separate suit in Jefferson Circuit Court.
Kemper remanded the case to district court and ordered the judge to make a finding as to whether the code enforcement board acted arbitrarily.
Whatever the final outcome of the case, it will probably not matter in July, when a new smoking ordinance takes effect that bans smoking in virtually every work place.
